Conversations on arts education usually revolve around adults telling each other what kids need. (Typical.) But what do the students themselves have to say? One recent high school graduate is speaking out about his own experience with arts education and why he wants arts education gets the investment necessary to thrive.
Recent high school graduate Frederick Plowright can clearly see how his arts education has provided him with not only opportunities (he recently sold his first painting!), but also confidence and problem-solving skills. While Frederick is exploring the arts more deeply, he is quick to note that students don’t need to pursue arts beyond the classroom for arts education to be beneficial:
